A second study trip was held in Croatia and Serbia

From November 4 to 8, 2024, our senior associate Ivan Duilo represented DOOR on a study trip as part of the LOGYCO project in Croatia and Serbia. The guest was a representative of the energy cooperative Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm Dr. Helmut Muthig, who was one of the hosts on the first trip last October.

The trip consisted of a visit to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, where we saw the solar power plant on the roof of the faculty. Also, a third workshop was held on the topic “Technical aspects of the establishment and operation of energy communities” in Ivanić-Grad, in which Dr. Muthig with a presentation and an example of good practice from Pfaffenhofen.

The second part of the trip took place in Serbia, in the city of Ruma, Pećinci and Sremska Mitrovica, where the hosts were project partners from RDA Srem. In Serbia, a visit was made to the modern landfill Srem Mačva, which should be self-sustaining and part of the energy community in Sremska Mitrovica. We got acquainted with the work of Vladimir Janković, a pioneer of renewable energy in Serbia, who showed us his self-sustaining low-energy property. Finally, we visited the Zasavica nature reserve, which meets its electricity needs from solar energy.
