DOOR presented citizens’ energy communities and the Logyco project at a workshop for LAGs in Bjelovar

Organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and the National Rural Network in cooperation with the LEADER network of Croatia, the Croatian Network for Rural Development and the Agency for Payments in Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development, a workshop was held for Local Action Groups (LAGs) in the Republic of Croatia. At the event, the focus was on the topic of citizens’ energy communities, and one of the key participants was DOOR – Society for Designing Sustainable Development.

At the workshop, DOOR presented the concept of citizens’ energy communities and their importance and link with LAGs. Energy communities of citizens represent an innovative approach in the field of energy, encouraging the active participation of citizens in the production, distribution and consumption of energy from renewable sources. This model encourages the local community and citizens to become “prosumers” – active participants in the energy market, which can result in reduced dependence on traditional energy systems and greater self-sustainability.

The Logyco project was presented at the workshop, which aims to educate citizens about the benefits of participating in energy communities and to make them aware of their role as key actors in the promotion of sustainable energy. Through the Logyco project, DOOR wants to encourage people to take an active role in the community and to jointly contribute to the energy transition towards a more sustainable future.

This important workshop brought together representatives of different LAGs from all over Croatia, and the participants had the opportunity to exchange experiences and best practices related to energy communities.
